Buying a house in Scotland

skene edwards keyring While in England it is normal to lodge a 10% deposit on exchange of Contracts, in Scotland the whole price is payable on the date of entry.

In exchange, the keys are handed to the purchaser along with the Title Deeds and a signed Disposition transferring the Title of the property.

As in England, if there is a loan secured over the property then the Title Deeds will be held by the lender.
